Passion and Punishment on Lake Baikal

The film takes viewers on an emotion-packed and tension-filled journey to the West coast of Lake Baikal.

A tragic car accident left Cossack Valerij Kurenkov paraplegic. Doctors gave up hope of him ever walking again. But then a miracle occurred. He beat the odds and regained mobility in his legs. Since his “miracle”, he made a solemn vow to serve God through good deeds. He vowed to build three churches on the coast of Baikal. But his dream was met by strong resistance from the local leaders of the Orthodox Church.
