The Albach-Retty-Schneiders and the Marischkas are two of the most important film dynasties in German-speaking countries, closely connected to the tragic acting icon, Romy Schneider, and her Sissi films.

The most well-known descendant of the Albach-Retty-Schneider film dynasty is Romy Schneider, but other members of the clan also played a central role in German-speaking cultural life for several generations - even in times of National Socialism. Romy Schneider's mother, father and grandmother were among the "God-gifted" for the National Socialists. In the post-war period, the Marischka film dynasty in particular had a lasting impact on the film landscape. It is a dynasty that has achieved great merit in the development of German-language film and, in particular, contributed one of the biggest hits of post-war film with the Sissi trilogy. In two episodes we devote ourselves to the history of the legendary film dynasties of the Albach-Retty-Schneiders and the Marischkas.
