Eric Wrede is an alternative undertaker and always stunned by the state in which the deceased arrive from hospitals. Wrede arranges funeral servicees according to the wishes of his customers. He finds many rules outdated and fights against them. The need for new farewell rituals and a more open approach to death is widespread. The film accompanies people who fight for this goal in very different ways.
