Born to Climb: Pakistan's Female Mountaineers

At the foot of the world’s highest mountains, young Pakistani women have set themselves ambitious goals.

They dream of making a name for themselves, building successful careers and ultimately reaching the summit of K2, the second-highest mountain in the world and one of the most dangerous. To do so, they must train hard, risking their lives as they pursue their ambitions, but also break with society's conservative traditions. For these young women, mountaineering is about more than personal achievement. It is a path towards independence, recognition and a future of their own making.
