Bolivar's Dream
This documentary is on the search for the political and social heritage of Simon Bolívar, who is celebrated as the liberator of South America.
Since the capitulation of the Spanish colonial power, South America has been exploited by North America and Europe. But times are changing - South America has a young, educated population united by digitization. As they look back to Bolívar’s values of community and brotherhood, a united South America seems possible.
Filmmakers Jörg Altekruse and Orlando Lübbert met on a journey following the footsteps of Bolívar. They hoped to uncover his impact on the Hispanic society and discover the role Simón Bolívar plays for modern day America and its people. Born the children of the one the great heroes of the Hispanic Independence, the youth of this society aim to revolutionize South America. As they look back to Bolívar's values of community and brotherhood, a united South America seems possible.
