Episodes
-
Emilia-Romagna
Emilia-Romagna is not only a paradise for gourmets, but also for animals. The lagoon landscape in the Po Delta is home to over 300 bird species - including the largest flamingo colony in Europe - and wild horses from the Camarque.
-
Marche
Le Marche is considered the last undiscovered region of the Italian peninsula. Young locals in particular are committed to preserving their traditions. After studying abroad or in a major Italian city, they are often drawn back to their old homeland.
-
Lazio
Rome is the capital of Italy and Lazio. But the region is much more than its capital. Just behind the ruins of Roman antiquity, mountain ranges rise up with sheep and goat herders, and small farms produce bread, cheese and meat of the highest quality.
-
Piedmont
Piedmont - a region full of contrasts. The mighty Alps in the north and west, the flat Po Valley and the hilly centre, ideal for wine-growing. In culinary terms, the region is one of the richest on the Italian peninsula. The largest rice-growing area in Europe is located here. In the forests, locals go in search of the valuable white truffle, the most precious of the noble mushrooms. And it is no coincidence that the Slow Food movement was founded here in the 1980s.
