The Iberian Lynx
In the dense forests of the Mediterranean, the elusive Iberian lynx rules as the king of the wilderness. A masterful and silent predator, this powerful feline can hunt prey up to three times its weight. Delve into the life of the Iberian lynx and uncover its incredible story of survival and adaptation in a complex ecosystem, where every creature contributes to the delicate balance of nature.
-
The Barbary Macaque
The similarity of the behavior of the Barbary macaque to that of humans is impressive. It is the only monkey native to the Mediterranean, it became abundant and lived in places as northern as Germany. Today there are barely 2,000 macaques that survive in one of the last cedar forests in Morocco. The strange hermit ibis or Audouin's gull have had a similar situation, although they have now returned to colonize the European Mediterranean.
-
The Wolf
Despite centuries of persecution by man, the great predator is still there, in the Mediterranean mountains: the wolf. Their way of life is difficult and dangerous as they hunt animals as large as deer or ibex. The other large Mediterranean carnivore, the griffon vulture, feeds on the same prey, but only when it finds them dead, hundreds of vultures make a huge male ibex disappear in a few minutes. Today, the wolves will be able to eat, once again, teamwork has given them an advantage.
