Munich, March 19, 2024. Factual specialist Autentic Distribution released its exciting new Spring/Summer catalogue with over 90 hours of fresh content, showcasing a diverse array of captivating documentaries and factual series that promise to enthrall audiences worldwide. 

In the Current Affairs Genre, the German distributor presents compelling titles that shed light on pressing global issues. Rivers at Risk – The Global Water Crisis Unveiled (2 × 45', 90') delves into the existential conflicts surrounding water scarcity, while the presale title How Democracies Die – The Road to Illiberal Democracy (2 × 45') by Autentic Studios offers an examination of the rise of right-wing populism and its threat to democratic principles throughout Europe. 

In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall this year, Autentic Distribution presents Grimme Prize-nominated Capital B – Who Owns Berlin? (5 × 52'), chronicling the city's complex history of urban development and power struggles. Acclaimed history series What Went Wrong returns for its fourth season (6 × 52') and continues to delve into the backgrounds of man-made disasters that shocked the world, from the Nordstream 2 sabotage to the Germanwings crash. Autentic Distribution also added the biographical documentary Emilie Schindler – Woman in the Shadow (52') to its line-up. 50 years after Oskar Schindler's death, this documentary tells the story of Emilie Schindler, a forgotten heroine whose acts of bravery have often been overshadowed by her husband's fame. Additionally, the intriguing history documentary Europe's Ancient Megasites: Mystery of a Lost Civilization (52') explores vanished civilizations from 6,000 years ago.  

Autentic Distribution’s newest Lifestyle and Arts programmes include three highly relevant and political documentaries: The Bolshoi System – Ballet, Power & Politics (90') delves behind the curtains of Russia's prestigious Bolshoi Theatre, offering a unique perspective into Russian society against the backdrop of current events, Artemisia Gentileschi: Trauma and Triumph in Baroque Art (52') explores the most famous #MeToo case of the Baroque art world and Baldiga – Unlocked Heart (90'), which premiered at this year’s Berlinale, offers a unique portrait of an artist while also telling the story of Berlin’s subculture. 

The Wildlife line-up of Autentic Distribution boasts Terra Mater Studios’ newest blue-chip nature documentaries: A Cheetah's Pride (3 × 50') offers a rare glimpse into the extraordinary dynamics of a cheetah family; Golden Eagle – Call of the Wild (2 × 50') follows fledglings’ intense struggle to survive the extreme conditions of the Alps; Europe's Amazon (2 × 50’) explores the Drava and Central Europe’s most spectacular inland delta; Dethroned (50', 90') investigates our connection to big cats in an attempt to uncover what could happen if we continue to allow these great creatures to be traded, commodified, and enslaved; The Wild Sides (3 × 50’) explores the untamed African wilderness from multiple animals’ perspectives, revealing their intertwining wild tales; and Patrick and the Whale (50’) follows the inspiring journey of Patrick Dykstra and his close bond to a sperm whale, he affectionately named "Dolores." Maramedia’s For the Love of Elephants (52', 90') also explores an extraordinary relationship between humans and animals, telling the inspirational story of a Scottish biologist and his life alongside elephants in Tanzania.

As always Autentic’s strong People & Places genre promises to take viewers on extraordinary journeys around the globe, celebrating the beauty and diversity of our earth’s cultures and landscapes. The series The Adriatic Sea (6 × 52') explores the mysterious lagoons, sandy beaches and historic cities along the Adriatic Sea. Wings of Courage – The Eagle Huntress of Mongolia (52', 30') follows the inspiring journey of Aibota, a determined Mongolian girl challenging traditional gender roles as she trains to become an eagle huntress. Meanwhile, Wild Horses of Andalusia (52') provides a glimpse into the annual mare round-up in Andalusia's Parque Nacional de Doñana, where rare Marismeño horses roam freely. Adventure Indonesia – Sumatra Uncovered (2 × 45') takes viewers on a unique journey through the magical island of Sumatra. North Sea Wonders: A Coastal Journey (6 × 52', 6 × 45') invites audiences to explore the diverse natural and cultural landscapes of the European North Sea coast, while Silesia – Exploring the Heart of Europe (2 × 45') offers a captivating journey through the cultural landscape of Silesia. Off the Beaten Track – Armenia's National Parks (2 × 52', 2 × 45') explores Armenia's diverse ecosystems, from stone plateaus to the great blue expanse of Lake Sevan. Lastly, Beyond Seoul: The Natural Wonders of South Korea (2 × 45') invites viewers to delve into the spectacular landscapes and remarkable animal life of rural South Korea.

Autentic Distribution also added several new, high-quality Science & Technology documentaries to its line-up. Science two-parter The Sun (2 × 52', 90') explores our earth’s ultimate star and its significance for science, nature, and mankind, while Living on Green Ice (52') takes a closer look at the underside of the polar sea ice, exploring an unknown aspect of climate change. The series Beyond Tomorrow – Technologies of the Future (6 × 30') explores the positive effects and potential threats of groundbreaking modern technologies. And Titans of Defence (6 × 52') by Go Button Media, exploring the technology behind the world’s strongest, most technically proficient, and innovative war machines, is now available for presale.
